Mission

The goal of NewPlayLA is to connect the artists and organizations who work on new play development in greater Los Angeles: playwrights, directors, dramaturgs, actors, designers, producers, writing groups, and theatre companies.  NewPlayLA believes that our theatre community needs a better, easier way to network, cross-pollinate, develop skills and produce. Simply put, we need a better way to navigate our community. There are over 400 theatre companies and writing groups in greater Los Angeles, but most theatre artists know or interact with only a few of these. We hope NewPlayLA becomes a nexus for new play development and energizes the LA theatre scene.
